Unemployment Rate Drops to Record Low Following Use of Planet Cracker

Unemployment on planet of Ilast Mog has dropped to a record low after the Voor Technocracy completely annihilated the world through planet cracking.

The Galactic Fact Office (GtFO) found that Ilast Mog’s jobless rate fell to 0% this month, down almost 88% from the previous quarter, the lowest level since records began.

The surprising news came despite the planetary economy adding zero jobs so far this quarter, with a net loss of districts and buildings.

Unemployment levels on the planet had been chronically high following its recent forcible takeover by the Voor Technocracy, which fueled instability and high levels of crime. However these metrics have similarly fallen to dramatically low levels following the Voor intervention with a Colossus.

Perak Wek, a Voor economist, told Xenonion: “From the mood of the labour market it was clear it needed a boost in the form of highly, highly concentrated cataclysm-inducing energy. This extraordinary data confirms that the only way to tackle macro-economic uncertainty is to undertake bold ideas like completely vaporizing the galaxy’s 8th most populous planet.”

Analysts have cautioned that the unemployment figures may be overblown, quite literally. They warn that although the data suggests a robust jobs market, it may be masking underlying problems facing Ilast Mog, such as the fact it no longer exists. Observers have also added companies are unlikely to hire workers from the fragments of planet floating adrift in space, and while deceased workers are abundant, productivity is likely to be reduced comparative to living peers.

Speaking about investment on the remnants of Ilast Mog, Japrak Tor, a spokes-xeno for the Orbis Synergies megacorporation stated: “While the data is promising, employers are becoming increasingly risk averse to being atomized. Orbis might invest in the blasted shards of the planet, however first we need to hear back first from the market research team we sent there last week.”

Voor leadership has been quick to credit the improvement in unemployment rates to “innovative policies.” Sector governor Gapra Va told Xenonion: “We’re seeing more pops than ever benefiting from being completely torn asunder.”

Despite the dramatic drop in unemployment, the Voor Technocracy has not shifted interest rates, hinting that other planets may be in line to receive intervention similar to Illast Mog. Shares on the Space Exchange Index (SEXI) remain bullish.
