One More Hyperlane Will Fix Traffic, Officials Insist

The Galactic Transit Authority (GTA) has approved the creation of an additional hyperlane between Sol and Barnard’s Star, in what officials hope will bring a “decisive resolution” to escalating congestion along one of the cluster’s busiest transit corridors.
The route has experienced sustained heavy traffic in recent cycles despite significant investment in an express hyper-relay toll lane and a corvette-pool initiative.
Commuters have long complained the hyperlane is nearing complete gridlock, with new concerns relating to a proposed nomadic wayline system being overlaid on the same route.
“Every transportation study ever commissioned has reached the same conclusion,” GTA official Zorak Glok told Xenonion. “Traffic isn’t caused by too many ships – it’s due to too few hyperlanes. One more connection is all that is needed for traffic to flow normally.”
Construction on proposed 600-million-lane hyperspace channel is expected to cost nearly 150 trillion energy credits, with work scheduled to begin as soon as “someone figures out how the hell hyperlanes actually work,” according to internal planning documents.
