Asteroid Survey Reveals Ancient Deposit of Trade
NEWS | LEDER SYSTEM | 18.05.2260
A routine geological survey of the Leder System has uncovered what experts are describing as “a remarkably concentrated seam of pure trade” embedded deep beneath the surface of asteroid LX-198.
Initial scans found no valuable minerals or strategic resources but did detect high levels of raw commerce, with probes showing fossilized evidence of trade routes and a highly dynamic retail environment.
“This is an extraordinary discovery,” chief survey scientist Dr Zate Zibiasky told Xenonion while standing in front of a holographic projection of the asteroid surrounded by various currency and stock symbols. “We have confirmed this asteroid contains naturally occurring trade deposits dating back several millennia. We believe an ancient civilization somehow compressed their entire market economies directly into the stone through prolonged exposure to quarterly growth targets.”
The discovery has triggered interest from several mega-corporations keen to obtain exclusive mining rights.
“Usually we have to generate trade via economic activity,” OmniCorp representative Vulf Bederman told Xenonion. “This asteroid produces it naturally!”
Critics remain skeptical that commerce can be physically extracted from an asteroid. However, the science crew conducting the initial survey report they have already spontaneously begun working as clerks while accruing a mysterious ancient administrative tax burden, indicating the deposit is authentic.
