Economic Order Quietly Shelved As Numbers Behave Differently Now
NEWS | INTERSTELLAR ASSEMBLY | 22.03.2260
The Galactic Council has confirmed that the long-standing economic framework underpinning interstellar civilization has been quietly shelved after key financial indicators began behaving “differently” earlier this week.
Officials across multiple space-nations report that while numbers themselves remain numeric in nature, their value no longer corresponds to any previously understood systems of production or consumption.
“Resource outputs essentially collapsed overnight,” systems governor Torba’Jirg told Xenonion. “I tried making some small tweaks to my industrial worlds and that just made things worse. At this point I’m just begging the president to put me back on a science ship so I can scan things without worrying about consumer goods.”
Traders from the Galactic Market have sought to reassure investors that prices remain firmly grounded in trade.
“Do not worry, trade remains fully functional,” trader Zorak Trak told Xenonion. “Remember that trade can always be traded for trade, increasing overall trade value.”
At the time of press, the Galactic Council’s remaining employed economists have unveiled a new unified economic doctrine for space nations to follow entitled ‘Build More Districts And Hope.”
