Abused, Conquered Planet Demands Repatriation to Former Abusive Conqueror

A recently liberated planet has requested to be returned to the previous empire that conquered and exploited it, citing concerns about the difficulty of self-governance.
The population of Karba’s Landing has petitioned the Galactic Community to be returned to its former conquerors, describing self-determination as “a logistical headache.”
The planet was annexed by the Voor Imperium three centuries ago, after which its inhabitants were subjected to forced labour, heavy taxation and public flogging.
Karba’s Landing achieved independence six months ago following a liberation war led by a coalition of neighbouring xenophilic species.
However, since then citizens have expressed growing dissatisfaction with running their planet, including working out tax codes and deciding which neighbouring empires to hate.
“For generations we were treated as second-class citizens, our resources were stripped from the planet and thousands were sent to die in pointless wars,” Karba’s landing representative Mogdran told Xenonion. “We’d like to go back.”
“Under the Voor we knew exactly who was responsible for all our problems,” Mogdran continued. “Now we’re expected to make decisions ourselves, and quite frankly it’s stressful.”
Representatives from the Voor Imperium state they would be delighted to re-vassalize their former subjects and promised to double flogging schedules until planetary morale improves.
